Corporate Sustainability

The HSBC Group worldwide is known for its Corporate Sustainability (CS) programme, and CS is at the heart of HSBC Bank in Vietnam⁽¹⁾. Internally we manage our carbon footprint, and we were one of the first banks commit to going carbon neutral⁽²⁾. Externally, we manage social and environmental risks associated with our lending and investment. We identify business opportunities that have an environmental and social benefit and we seek to embed social and environmental issues into all our business activities.

Every year, CS Vietnam organises and sponsors many innovative community-oriented initiatives related to education, environment and social community, and encourages bank staff to become actively involved. In first half of 2009, over 500 staff spent a total of 2,428 hours volunteering.
