Education

Future FirstFuture First:
Future First is HSBC Global Education Trust's five-year programme (2007-2012) to help provide education, livelihood training and rehabilitation for street children, orphans and children in care around the world. HSBC Vietnam coordinates with in-country non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to look for projects that will most benefit these children in Vietnam.

In June 2010, HSBC Vietnam started to launch Vietnam Future First programme that uses local budget to support international and local NGOs which provide education and life skills for street children, orphans and children in care in Vietnam. In 2010, we funded five projects which are implemented in HCMC, Dong Thap, Hau Giang, Binh Thuan province and benefited more than 6,790 people including disadvantaged children, and young women.

By end of 2010, 22 projects in Vietnam received a total of USD441,755 and more than VND905 million sponsorship from the Future First programme including the Vietnam scheme, benefiting around 51,608 children.

The HSBC Group has just decided to extend the Future First programme to another five year from 2012 until 2017 with total amount of US$15 million. Organizations are invited to submit their application for sponsorship through Corporate Sustainability of HSBC Vietnam.
