Being an HSBC Visa Platinum Credit Cardholder or HSBC Premier Platinum Debit Cardholder, you are entitled to have free of charge Travel Guard which will relieve you from problems & stress during a vacation/business trip as a result of losing baggage, a sickness, a flight delay, or emergency medical treatment, with the coverage up to USD 500,000. With the free Travel Guard, HSBC Visa Platinum Credit Card and HSBC Premier Platinum Debit Card now can provide you the best in emergency assistance cover - at a time when you most need it, as well as help to protect you and your family from this financial burden.

The coverage is on purchase required basis, meaning when the cardholder pays for trip and/ or transportation ticket for overseas trip. Only the cardholders and his/her family member using Common Carrier are covered (not the full journey).

Covers all Travel Guard expenses as incurred in returning to the Country of Origin or Home Country the remains of the Insured Person who suffers loss of life during their Trip.

Personal Baggage including Lap-Top Computer

Covers loss or damage to baggage, clothing, personal effects, Lap-Top Computer. (Maximum 500 USD for any one article or pair or set of articles. Maximum for Lap-Top Computer is 1,000 USD)

Cover 100 USD for each full 8 consecutive hours of delay

Travel Misconnection

In the event that the Insured Person's confirmed onward travel connection is missed at the transfer point due to the late arrival of the Insured Person's incoming confirmed connecting scheduled conveyance and no onward transportation is available to the Insured Person within six (6) consecutive hours on his/her arrival, the insurance company will pay (VND2,100,000) for every such six (6) consecutive hours up to the limit applicable to the Selected Plan. This benefit is payable only once for each trip out of Vietnam.

Automatic Extension of Policy period

Per Policy of each Trip, the period of insurance will be extended without charge for 72 hours through circumstances outside the Insured Person’s control.

If you are in need of emergency abroad assistance, please call TRAVEL GUARD hotline as: + 603-2772-5688 or + 848-6299-2185 on a collect-call basis (reverse charge) anytime from anywhere in the world. The insurance policy or certificate number should be made available for TRAVEL GUARD to facilitate coordination.


Instruction to claimants
You should fully complete the Claim Form below, attach all required documents and forward to AIG Vietnam Insurance Company Limited office as per address below. As soon as possible after the occurrence of any event which may give rise to a claim (within 30 days), written notice should be given to AIG Vietnam.

Documentation required in case of a claim

Basic Claim Requirements

1. Completed Travel Claim Form with confirmation from HSBC Vietnam about eligible status of HSBC Visa Platinum Credit Cardholder or HSBC Premier Visa Platinum Debit Cardholder
2. Photocopy of Passport.
3. Photocopy of Common Carrier ticket/ Boarding Pass.
4. Bill/receipt to prove the qualification of Purchase required.
5. Proof to prove the duration of the trip.
6. Supporting documentation on incident’s circumstances and claimed amount.

This claims procedure does not in any way override the terms and conditions of the policy and only serves as a reference for the general documentation required for each type of claim. Actual documents required will vary case by case.
