In order to create an Internet Banking account you need to have one of our facilities with details as described below
  • An account number on your debit card and PIN of this card, or
  • A PhoneBanking number and its PIN, or
  • A Credit card number and its PIN

For customers who only have joint accounts (no sole accounts) please use Phone banking number to register Internet Banking as the only way.

Please follow these steps:
  • Go to our public website http://www.hsbc.com.vn
  • Go to the Registration page of our Internet Banking to complete the registration process


OR
There are two ways to reset your Internet Banking password by following the below steps.

A. If you forgot your password and still remember your security answers.
  • Go to our public website http://www.hsbc.com.vn
  • Go to the Logon page of our Internet Banking
  • Enter the Username you created during the registration and click "Continue"
  • Enter your security code and click "Continue"
  • Select the "Forgotten your password" link on the log on screen
  • Enter your Security Answers
  • Create a new password

B. In case the security answers are incorrect, you will then be guided to perform an Offline Password Reset (OFR) by following the below steps.
  • Go to our public website http://www.hsbc.com.vn
  • Go to the Logon page of our Internet Banking
  • Enter the Username you created during the registration and click "Continue"
  • Click on "Need assistance to reset your password" and then click "Continue"
  • Set up your new password, new security questions and answers
  • Click on "Continue"

In order to use your new security information for the next log on, please click on "Printable Version" button, then print out, complete and return to us. Alternatively, you can submit the Internet Banking Maintenance Form with confirmation number. Please send the form with your original signature via postal service to below address. Your request will be automatically expired within 12 days .

HSBC/ Foreign issued cards will be returned after 4 working days at HSBC Branch/Transaction Office which is nearest the ATM retains cards.

Local issued cards will be returned to issue bank Card Center

  • Retained cards at ATMs in Binh Duong province will be returned at HSBC Binh Duong Branch on Tuesday of the following week.
  • Retained cards will be destroyed after 30 days uncollected.

HSBC equips Multifunction ATMs at every HSBC branch or Transaction Office that enables you to make cash deposit. Please follow these steps in the attached userguide to fulfil you need.
Pursuant to the regulation on foreign exchange control issued by State Bank of Vietnam, resident Vietnamese customers are only allowed to make transfer to overseas in some specific cases, provided that the appropriate documents have been submitted. Some examples include:
  • Payment for overseas study, medical treatment expenses of themselves or their relative's.
  • Going abroad for business, travelling and visit.
  • Payment of fees and charges to foreign parties overseas.
  • Providing subsidies to overseas relatives.
  • Remitting bequeathed money to overseas inheritor.
  • Going abroad for resettlement.
Internet Banking Credit Card Loan ATM Account Opening

OR
When you are routed to the Acknowledgement page your transfer has been completed successfully. However, some transactions via Internet Banking will be processed manually due to the government regulations.
For example, you have selected to do "Transfer now" and entered the beneficiary information such as bank name and address manually. Your accounts would not be debited immediately because our system could not recognise the bank name and account. We will have to process your transaction manually.

Any transfers made after 2 PM or on weekends, public holidays or bank holidays of HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd. will also be processed on the next working day.
You are able to make request for an e-statement by following the below steps:
  • Go to our public website http://www.hsbc.com.vn
  • Log on Internet Banking
  • Click on Statements on the navigator bar on the left-hand side
  • Click on request Account/Credit Card e-statement
  • Follow instructions and click "Send"
  • Confirm

After your request for e-statement is completed you will receive the e-statement on the next statement date. This request will stop your paper statement. If you do not have any transactions in the previous month you will not receive any statement.

  • Log on Internet Banking
  • Click at "Statements" on the left hand side
  • Click at the statement date to view the transaction details of each month.

E-statements are kept for 12 months only.
  • Pre-designated payment limit: VND500,000,000. The pre-designated payees are valid if you complete the Personal internet banking limit revision/payee request form and submit to our bank for further process. If you register themselves these payees will be treated as non-designated payees. It can help you save time only as you do not have to enter beneficiary details again in the next transactions.
  • Non-designated payment limit: VND150,000,000. The maximum limit we offer is VND300,000,000. However, the default limit is VND150,000,000. If you want to use the maximum limit you must fill in the Personal internet banking limit revision/payee request form and submit to our bank for further process.

  • Click "Transfer" on the left hand side
  • Enter all information required: please pay attention to some information as follows.
    + From account: choose the account number you would like to be debited
    + Transfer to: Linked account
    + My linked accounts: choose your credit card number
  • Click "Transfer"
  • Enter security code
  • An acknowledgement page will display

The credit card will only be credited at the end of effective date.

  • Fill in details of the transaction as Amount, Currency, etc.

  • Click on "Retrieve" and choose the payee
  • Click on "Make a transfer" button.
  • Complete all information relating to the transaction

  • Click on "Confirm"
  • Enter the security code.
  • An acknowledgement page will display

Your Credit Card statement is sent to your correspondence address every month.

Therefore, please make sure that your correspondence address is most updated. In case you have not received the credit card statement please contact our 24/7 Customer Service at (84 8) 37 247 247 for assistance or register Internet Banking to receive e-statement, which will enable you to access not only the posted transactions but also the unbilled transactions of the current cycle.
Your could check your credit card balance by using:
HSBC Credit Card is a chip card (a microchip is embedded on face of the card). Chip cards help ensure highly secure transactions and reduce the risk of counterfeit cards fraud. When making payment with chip card, unlike the magnetic stripe card, the merchant is required to insert the card into the terminal instead of swiping.

You can only choose to receive either e-statement or paper statement
If you fail to settle your statement balance in full by the statement due date a finance charge will be accrued on the daily outstanding balance since the last statement date until the statement balance is fully repaid.

If you fail to pay the minimum amount by the statement due date a late charge of 4% (minimum VND 80,000) will be applied.

You can use your credit card to purchase goods and services at any Outlets or Online stores that accept Visa cards. Moreover, you can make cash withdrawal at any HSBC or Techcombank's ATMs or any bank's ATMs displaying Visa/Plus logo worldwide. For more details, please refer to our Credit Card User Guide.

VbV stands for Verified by Visa. It is a new service offered by Visa International to VISA credit card customers to improve transaction security. Your online transaction will be authorized only by entering your registered password.

This service is available at no additional cost. To register, please follow a few simple steps:
  • Log on to Internet Banking
  • After you have logged on Internet Banking successfully, please:
    - Click "Services" on the left hand side menu
    - Click "Verify by Visa"
    - Choose Visa credit card to register the service then click "Go"
    - Create your personal profile then click on "Go"
    - Read Terms and Conditions then click on "Accept"
    - Click on "Confirm"
    - Acknowledgement page appears, then click "Ok"
Please follow the below instructions if you are going abroad:
  • Note down HSBC's contact details before you leave the country in case you need our assistance.

  • Update your contact details and information of your trip, so that we can contact you while you're abroad in case we suspect any fraudulent activity or unusual spending pattern on your account. The amount of your loan depends largely on:
  • How much you need and the tenor of the loan.
  • Your ability to pay calculated based on your monthly income.

  • Personal Instalment Loan application form (original copy)
  • ID card (a certified copy or the original ID to be crosschecked at the Bank. The date of issuance of the ID card must not exceed 15 years with identifiable details and photo)
  • In case the current residence address is the SAME as the address on the household registration book: household registration book (a certified copy or the original ID to be crosschecked at the Bank). If the address is different, the KT3 (a certified copy or the original ID to be crosschecked at the Bank) is required in addition to the temporary residence (original copy with the seal and signature of the local authorities. The date of the certification must not exceed one month).
  • Employment contract with the signing date of over one year (copy), or the certification letter of the applicant's position, employment duration and salary (original).
  • Bank statement (original) which reflects the salary of the last three months.
  • The most recent telephone bill of the current residential address (or water supply bill or electricity bill)

Your default primary account (PAN) of your debit card is VND.

To withdraw fund from Secondary account number (SAN), please follow the Below steps. Please note that the currency of your cash is always in VND regardless the withdrawal is made from your PAN or SAN account.

  • Select Other Services
  • Select Cash withdrawal
  • Select account that you would want to conduct

To change PIN please follow these steps:

  • Enter the old PIN and wait a few seconds for the notice message "Your new PIN is accepted"

Please be advised that you are able to make transfer to HSBC savings, current account and make payment to credit card account at HSBC ATMs. Please follow steps in the attached user guides.
The daily limit for Debit Card is 40,000,000 VND and for Credit Card is up to 16,000,000 VND or 70% limit, whichever is lower.
  • PIN theft: When using an ATM please make sure your PIN is seen by noone. You can use your hand to shield the keypad when entering your PIN; you should not write your PIN on the card or keep a copy of PIN in your wallet. Please keep a reasonable distance to the one who is making transactions.
  • Card information theft: All HSBC ATM card readers have been installed with anti-skimming system. However, if the ATM card reader seems unusual compared to other HSBC ATMs, please use another ATM or contact the bank.
  • Robbery: HSBC ATMs are equipped with cameras, and installed in areas that are clearly visible from the street and to foot traffic, as well as security guards. In addition, HSBC cooperates with landlords and police to maintain a high security level for our customers. However, please always be alert to the surroundings when making transactions at ATMs.

Currently HSBC Debit Card cannot be used for online purchase. It will be communicated to customers later when it's available.
Pursuant to our current practice, we are able to issue a Visa Debit Card for customers who currently maintain a VND account at our bank only. Therefore, it is required to open a VND account to obtain a Debit Card.

Your VND account will be linked as the primary account and your existing foreign currency account will be the secondary account. Primary account (VND account) is the account from which purchase transactions, cash withdrawal at ATMs, charges and fees related to the Debit Card are debited, while secondary account is only for cash withdrawal at ATMs.
Yes, please come to our Branches or Transaction Offices to complete the Authorization Form and submit to the Bank, together with supporting documents of the authorized person per bank requirements.
