e-Statements

HSBC has a long standing commitment to the environment and as such, we are undertaking a program to reduce our paper use. In this spirit, we are sending our Internet Banking customers e-Statements only, effective 4 May 2009. From this date onwards, all Internet Banking customers can access their statements through the convenience of Internet Banking - anytime, anywhere.

For each 400 customers to eliminate one paper statement from their account, whether for deposit, loan or credit card accounts, we can save at least one tree each year. Let’s join up to protect the environment.

With e-Statements you have:

  • An electronic version of your statements. Go paperless!
  • Timely and secure access to your statements, so they are private and will never get lost in the mail.
  • Access to your statements from the comfort of your home, office or anywhere you choose.
  • Statements which will be kept in your Internet Banking for 12 months.
  • Statements which can be saved and archived to your computer for quick reference.
  • The option to print your statement as many times as you like, or not at all.

Frequently Asked Questions about e-Statements

What are e-Statements?

e-Statements are simply your bank statements in an electronic format. They are presented in Portable Document Format (PDF) that can be downloaded onto your own computer. e-Statements will only be generated on your upcoming statement date.

What are the benefits of using the e-Statement?

  • Ability to view at your convenience, anytime, anywhere.
  • e-Statements can be saved on your computer.
  • No more paper statement and advice clutter.
  • More environmentally friendly.

How can the e-Statement service help the environment?

Trees benefit our environment in many ways including providing shade, cooling, noise reduction and erosion prevention. Trees also act as natural filters of our air by absorbing carbon dioxide, which regulates the heat retained in our atmosphere which can lead to climate change. On average, a large tree will absorb approximately 20.3kgs of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year over a 40 year lifespan. In other words, consuming less paper and hence less trees provide a direct benefit to our environment.

What types of e-Statements are provided by the Bank?

The following e-Statements are available with others being launched in phases:

  • FlexiDeposit account e-Statement
  • Current account e-Statement
  • Loan e-Statement
  • Credit card e-Statement (you have to register in Internet Banking first)
