Prudential will not pay the death benefit if the life assured (LA) dies due to any of the following reasons:

• If the LA commits suicide or self-injury, within two years from the date policyholder (PO) pays first premium or the latest reinstatement date of this policy, whichever comes later
• For additional sum assured (SA), this exclusion applies within 2 years from the effective date of the increased SA or the most recent reinstatement date, whichever comes later
• Criminal acts or intentional fault of the PO against the LA; or,
• Criminal acts or intentional fault of the Beneficiary against the LA; or,
• The LA is executed by death penalty; or,
• The LA has HIV infection, AIDS or HIV/ AIDS-related diseases, except in the case of HIV infection or AIDS as a result of HIV infection while performing duties at work as a health worker or police officer; or,
• The LA uses any addictive substances, narcotics, stimulant that violate the law or without a doctor's prescription.

Exclusions in case of total and permanent disability (TPD) of the life assured (LA):

• Has occurred prior to the risk commencement date of this policy or the latest reinstatement date of this policy, whichever comes later.
• For the increase in the SA, the exclusion provided for in this article shall also apply in case the LA's TPD status has occurred prior to the effective date of the increase in the SA or before the latest reinstatement date of this Insurance policy, whichever comes later; or,
• Due to thyroid cancer diagnosed within 90 days from the Risk Commencement Date of the Policy or the latest Reinstatement Date of the Insurance Policy, whichever comes later. For the increase in SA, exclusion of TPD will apply due to thyroid cancer diagnosed within 90 days from the effective date of the increase in SA or latest reinstatement date of this insurance policy, whichever comes later; or,
• Due to any of the following reasons, whether directly or indirectly:
  • The LA attempts suicide, fails to commit suicide or self-injury resulting in TPD; or
  • Criminal acts or intentional fault of the PO/ LA against the LA; or
  • Criminal acts or intentional fault of the Beneficiary against the LA; or
  • The LA's participation in aviation activities, except as a passenger on civil rights; or
  • The LA uses any addictive substances, narcotics, stimulant that violate the law or without a doctor's prescription

You can make payments using any of the following channels:

The premium period is equal to your policy term. You can make flexible payments from the 5th year of the policy[@insurance-pru-max-protect-flexible-payment]. 

The free look period lasts up to 21 days. This is from the date of submission of the following signed hard copies by the policy holder (PO).

In case the policy holder chooses to cancel their policy, Prudential shall then return to them the total initial paid premiums, without interest after deducting medical examination fees, if any.
