Notice of Partnership Program termination between Gojek & HSBC

According to the official announcement from Gojek about the decision to close down their operations in Vietnam, and the Gojek application for users in Vietnam will officially stop working from 00:00 on September 16th, 2024. Having said that, all Partnership programs between Gojek and HSBC will be officially ended from 00:00 on September 11th, 2024 as well subsequently.

We assure that Customer’s benefits will be kept unchanged for all transactions successfully made on the Gojek application before the termination.

Following the Article 46, 13/2018/TT-NHNN of State Bank of Vietnam date 18/05/2018 providing on internal country systems of commercial banks and foreign banks’ branches and Business Contingency Plan (BCP), HSBC Vietnam would like to announce that it will suspend operations at Hanoi Branch for a BCP exercise with details as follows:

Time of suspension:

  • Hanoi Branch at 29 Lieu Giai, Ngoc Khanh Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi: temporarily closed from 08:00 till end of day on May 06, 2024.
  • Three ATMs at 29 Lieu Giai, Ngoc Khanh Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi are still operating normally.

During this time, customers can also manage their everyday banking needs at 4 HSBC Transaction Offices in Hanoi (please find the nearest Transaction Office using our branch finder) and from the comfort of their home with HSBC Online Banking or the HSBC Mobile Banking app.

  • Payment due date will change respectively. Please refer to your monthly Credit Card statement for details.

Automatic Information Update For HSBC Visa Credit Card

This notice is in regard to the HSBC credit card information which the cardholder has provided and / or saved with online merchant(s) (“Merchant”) for recurring payments.

In the event of card replacement, where the credit card number is unchanged and only the expiry date is changed, due to damage replacement or card renewal, HSBC will update the new expiry date to Visa according to Visa Card Association’s requirement.

Visa will subsequently send a request to the relevant merchant(s) to update the expiry in order to avoid any interruption to any subscriptions which the customer might have registered to.

This action will be taken for all HSBC Visa credit cards without requesting cardholders to enrol manually. HSBC will update information to Visa on the 15th of each month. (If this date falls on weekends or public holidays, HSBC will proceed on the next working day.)

** Note: If the cardholder has a new card with the new card number, please register this new card information with merchant(s).

REQUIREMENT FOR TRANSFER REQUEST TO PAY FOR CREDIT CARD

We would like to remind you of the below important information regarding transfer request to HSBC Credit Card (Hereinafter referred to as “Card”).

Following the prevailing regulation, valid transfer request will only get credited to beneficiary’s account if the request has sufficient and correct information of beneficiary bank, beneficiary account number and beneficiary account name. If you transfer from other bank to your Card for Card payment, please ensure the following are met:

1. Choose Normal transfer option if you transfer directly to your Card number (Please do not select Instant transfer NAPAS 247 for this request); and

2. Provide accurate information on the transfer request as follows:

  • Beneficiary account number: 16 digits embossed on credit card
  • Beneficiary account name: Cardholder’s name
  • Beneficiary bank name: HSBC Vietnam
  • Beneficiary bank address: 235 Dong Khoi Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
  • Amount: Amount that you want to pay for your credit card balance
  • Narrative: Narrative that you want to enter (E.g. Card repayment…)

Transfer request with incorrect or insufficient information will be rejected and can result into potential fees and / or interest charges along with impact to customer’s credit history.

Note

(i) How to submit Normal transfer request might vary across Remittance banks. Service fee for normal transfer request, if any, will be applied by Remittance bank, not by Beneficiary bank. Please contact your Remittance bank to get more details.

(ii) You should make payment for your Card at least two (02) working days prior to payment due date so that your payment can be credited to Card successfully.

(iii) If you have a bank account at HSBC Vietnam, you can register Direct Debit authorization service for Card payment (details as the below link) and make transfer to this registered bank account by using Instant transfer NAPAS 247 or Normal transfer.

Notice for temporarily closure of HSBC Da Nang Branch

Due to the impact of typhoon Noru, our HSBC Da Nang Branch located in 01 Nguyen Van Linh, Binh Hien Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang city will be temporarily closed from 12:00 PM Tuesday, 27 Sep 2022 until further notice based on the direction from the authorities. Please also note the following:

  • ATM at the HSBC Da Nang Branch will be available till 8:00 PM on 27 Sep 2022 and will then be closed until further notice
  • ATM at the Da Nang International Airport, Hoa Thuan Tay Ward, Hai Chau District will not be accessible from immediate effect until further notice
  • ATM at Vincom Danang, 496 Ngo Quyen, An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District is operating as normal, and can be accessed subject to the building being open

We will continue to provide updates to customer the operating time of HSBC Da Nang Branch once we receive further notice from Authorities. Update on discontinuation of our service of card payment via Vietnam Post Transaction Offices (VNPost)

HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd (“HSBC”) will stop the service of HSBC card repayment by cash deposit through Vietnam Post Transaction Office from 01 July 2022. 

Please rest assured that you can easily make payments for your HSBC credit card(s) via one of the alternative methods:

  • Connected stores of Payoo. For details of available connected stores, please search information at website of Payoo.
  • Transfer from other bank(s) to your HSBC credit card number(s) or to your HSBC account (if this account is registered for HSBC credit card auto-payment).

Update Cardholder Dispute Form with Adobe Live Sign Technology

As of 7 February 2022, we updated our Card Purchase Transaction Dispute Forms and ATM Transaction Dispute Form to the new Cardholder Dispute Form with Adobe Live Sign Technology.

With this new, hassle free way to submit your card transaction dispute, you no longer have to visit our Branch / Transaction Office or call our Contact Center. Now you can use Live Sign Form to fill and submit the form entirely online. Just enter your required details in the form, provide your digital signature, verify with your email address, and we'll start processing your request in accordance with the relevant regulations.

The feature "Digital Secure Key" will replace your physical Security Device.

HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Limited ("HSBC") is delighted to announce that the Digital Secure Key ("DSK") feature will replace your current physical Security Device from 13 January 2022. Please update the latest version of your HSBC Vietnam application to activate your DSK and experience an easier and secure way to bank online.

If you decide not to activate your DSK, you'll still continue using physical Security Device but only be able to access your Online Banking (via web browser).

Update on the discontinuation of accepting for local VISA and Union Pay Debit cards at HSBC ATM(s)

We would like to inform that HSBC ATMs had stopped supporting the cash withdrawal for non-HSBC VISA debit cards from 16/11/2021 and non-HSBC Union Pay debit cards from 19/11/2021 which are issued by domestic banks.

Due to the current social distancing Directive No. 16/CT-TTg from the Prime Minister of Vietnam for the prevention and control of COVID-19, the delivery timeline for your Credit card, Debit card (“Card(s)”) and/or PIN will be revised to the following:

  • In the North: the delivery will be slightly delayed depending on different areas

Compliance with regulations on credit card transactions

Dear Customer,

Thank you for banking with HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Limited ("HSBC").

We like to ensure our customer are well informed, so we would like to remind you the below important information for the legal purpose of credit card transactions to comply with State bank of Vietnam's regulations.

 

You are not allowed to withdraw cash at merchants using your credit card

A credit card is typically used to purchase items at a merchant and you can legally withdraw cash from your credit card issued by HSBC from an ATM. If any merchants offer you an option to withdraw cash from your credit card, it's a fictitious transaction at merchant without occurrence of any sale of goods and provision of services which is one of prohibited acts under Circular 19/2016/TT-NHNN and a break of HSBC Credit Card Cardholder Agreement (*).

 

Legal implications

Under the State Bank of Vietnam, Circular 19/2016/TT_NHNN and its accompanied amendments, customers suspected of performing fictitious transactions will be reported and may be fined up to VND 150,000,000 by the authorities.

In addition to a fine, the Bank reserves the right to cancel your card immediately if we detect this suspicious activity on your card according to HSBC Credit Card Cardholder Agreement (*).

(*)HSBC Premier World Mastercard Credit Card Cardholder Agreement (applied for HSBC Premier World Mastercard Credit Card) and HSBC Credit Card Cardholder Agreement (applied for HSBC Visa Credit Card).

Key points to remember

  • Do not withdraw cash from any merchants using your credit card, this could lead to a fine and your credit card being cancelled.
  • The legal way of withdrawing cash from your Credit Card is from ATM
  • You shall use the Card only for legal purposes and in accordance with Vietnamese laws.

Effective from 05 October 2020, HSBC Debit Card Cardholders have another channel to submit request to reset Card PIN via SMS. To submit the request, please send a text to 6067 with the below syntax (SMS fee: VND 1,000/SMS):

HSBC_PDC_Last 4 digits of Debit Number_Last 6 digits of Passport Number send to 6067

Explanation:

  • Last 4 digits of Debit Number: last 4 digits of HSBC Debit Card needs to be reset PIN.
  • Last 6 digits of Passport Number: last 6 digits of Passport Number of Debit Cardholder registered with HSBC.

Notice:

  • All requests have to be sent from the Cardholder's mobile phone number registered with HSBC.
  • You will receive a SMS confirming successful receipt of your request. The Bank will process your request within 01 working day and inform you the outcome by SMS. Your new PIN will be sent to your registered correspondence address.


2. Update on Employee Banking Solution ("EBS"), Personal Banking Tariff and General Terms & Conditions

Effective from 12 Oct 2020, Employee Banking Solution will be enhanced to:

  • No fee on cash withdrawal transaction at Visa Plus ATM network within Vietnam.
  • Auto upgrade to the new EBS package with preferential fee/ interest rate for accounts with monthly salary credit.

Announcement of the availability of new Online Banking feature

We would like to announce the new feature available on our Online Banking as below.

From 14 July 2020 onwards, you will be asked to create a new password upon logon for Online Banking (*). This is a one-time request and the new password will be used when you install the HSBC Mobile Banking app for the first time (**) and activate your new or replacement Security Device. The logon process still remains the same using your username and security code generated from your Security Device.

One-time password (OTP) ensures secure online transactions on HSBC Debit & Credit Cards

We are delighted to introduce a new SMS One Time Password (OTP) functionality for online transactions on HSBC Debit & Credit Cards ("HSBC Cards") which replaces the current Verified by Visa (VbV) and MasterCard® SecureCode. This is a security authentication process to ensure online transactions are fast, safe and efficient, and will be effective as per the below schedule:

  • From 08Dec2020: HSBC Visa Credit Card (card type: Classic, Cash Back, Platinum), HSBC Debit Card and HSBC Visa Platinum Debit Card
  • From 10Dec2020: HSBC Premier MasterCard® Credit Card

OTP will be sent to the Primary cardholders, Supplementary cardholders & Debit Card cardholders. To receive this OTP, you need to register or update your mobile number and /or your supplementary cardholder's mobile number, if not done already, by:

Option 1: Visit your nearest Branch/ Transaction Office & submit the request.

Option 2: Call our Contact Center on one of the below mentioned numbers.

Option 3: If you are primary cardholder, you could also request through online banking.

  1. Select "Secured Mailbox"
  2. Select "Send us a message"
  3. Request "Change customer personal information"
