You are encouraged to repay the minimum payment as this is a requirement of maintaining your credit card. If you do not pay the minimum payment due, your credit record will be adversely affected not only at HSBC but also at other banks.

If I don’t have enough money for full auto payment on the Payment Due Date, how will the bank process with the remaining balance?

We will only process the automatic debit payment requests if you have sufficient funds in your account (this can be the minimum due or the full amount, depending on which option you’ve registered with us). If your account does not have sufficient funds, we will not debit the remaining amount from your account. You may consider repaying a smaller amount by funds transfer at an HSBC ATM, via Internet Banking service or contact our Customer Representative.

Can I register for the auto-payment service so 50% of the statement balance is automatically repaid each month?

No. We currently offer this service where you would like to repay the minimum amount or full amount payment (100%). If you would like to repay 50% of your statement balance, you may consider repaying this by funds transfer at an HSBC ATM, via Internet Banking service or contact our Customer Representative.
