What is the Digital Secure Key?

The Digital Secure Key is a new, safe and convenient way to generate security codes on the HSBC Vietnam Mobile Banking app. You can use it to log on to online banking or verify transactions more quickly and securely, without needing your physical Security Device.

To activate and use your Digital Secure Key, all you need to do is update your HSBC Vietnam Mobile Banking to the latest available version.

How do I activate my Digital Secure Key?

You'll first need to update or download the HSBC Vietnam Mobile Banking app.

Once you've activated your Digital Secure Key, your physical Security Device will be deactivated automatically. You can then use your Digital Secure Key to generate security codes on the app easily, quickly and securely.

Digital Secure Key is available now on the HSBC Vietnam Mobile Banking app. To activate it on your device, update or download the app.

Available on iOS version 14 or above and Android version 8.0 and above.

HSBC Vietnam app does not support any beta or unofficial releases for iOS and Android.

How do I use my Digital Secure Key?

You'll first need to activate your Digital Secure Key on the HSBC Vietnam Mobile Banking app. To generate a one-time security code with it so you can log on to online banking or verify transactions, follow these steps.

Step 1: Open the HSBC Vietnam Mobile Banking app but don't log on. Select 'Generate security code' from the bottom of the log on screen.

Step 2: Select the action you'd like to perform:

  • Log on to online banking
  • Transaction verification
  • Re-authenticate code

Step 3: Use biometric authentication (Touch ID, Fingerprint ID or Face ID) or your 6-digit PIN to verify your identity. If you're verifying a transaction, you'll first need to enter the digits from your transaction.

Step 4: Enter the security code displayed on the screen as requested in online banking.
